Simply Twisted Designs uses a range of different wires. Anything made with colored wire (ie, anything not gold, silver or copper) is made with a base copper wire and coated with a particular color (ie. Red or black).
I also use a couple of different versions of silver and gold wire. I use plain silver coated or gold coated copper wire in several designs. I have also incorporated non-tarnish silver and brass (gold colored) wire into newer designs. These use a silver or brass coating over copper wire, which are then layered with enamel to keep the wire from tarnishing. People with metal allergies are less likely to have a reaction from the non-tarnish wires, though it is always possible.

I measure the length of all bracelets and necklaces, and these measurements are listed on the individual product page.
It depends on the piece, but I can almost always add an extender to a necklace, and quite often I can often add or remove a small amount of length on bracelets. If you are unsure if an item will fit you, please contact me before you place your order and I will be glad to look at the piece and let you know if it will fit you or can be adjusted for you.
Our online store is handled through Paypal, which means Simply Twisted Designs can accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover, as well as direct payment from your bank account or Paypal account. If you are getting a custom order, I can handle the same credit cards over the phone and I will accept money orders for the exact amount of the purchase. However, in the case of money orders, I will not ship out until the money order has cleared the bank, so I highly recommend using a credit card if possible.
Absolutely. Please see the shipping rates and policies for more information. We recommend that you use the insurance option if your package will be going overseas.
If an item is in stock, it should ship in 1 to 3 days, then it is at the mercy of the postal service.
Yes, under specific circumstances. If a piece arrives damaged, or if you feel it has been misrepresented, contact me about a return. I do not accept returns if a piece is larger or smaller than expected, as measurements are listed on the individual product page. That stated, should a piece be larger or smaller than expected, contact me and I will attempt to fix the problem.
Absolutely! Please see our custom orders page for details.
It varies depending on the piece, and whether I have the materials needed for your order on hand. If you know exactly what you want and I have the materials on hand, your order could be finished in a few days to a week. If I have to order materials, or you want to work with me to hammer out a design, it could take several weeks to a month or two. Elaborate wire jewelry will take a minimum of two weeks to a month.
It depends. Some items use very unique beads that I may not be able to find again. Again, contact me about an individual piece to see if I can reproduce it. Be aware, however, that a reproduced piece may not look exactly like the original. Semi-precious tones and even glass or resin beads often have natural variations in color.
As with any jewelry, stones and beads can have hidden flaws and wires can bend. If the piece breaks due to an error on my part, I will repair the piece at no cost to you. Should the piece break due to unforeseen circumstances (ie. The dog chews on it or your toddler pulls it apart), contact me and I will repair the piece at a reasonable price. I do not repair jewelry that I did not make.
Currently I cannot make wedding or commitment rings, as the wire used is not strong enough to hold up to daily wear on the hands.
Absolutely not. I only collect your information to process your order and provide you with the best service possible. The thought of selling your information to some third party merchant gives me the willies. After all, I wouldn't want that happening to me. I may use your email information to send you information about specials from time to time, but you may, of course, choose to opt out of those e-mails.
Simply Twisted Designs uses Paypal to process all credit card transactions, which means you will be going through one of the world's leaders in online payment solutions. I do not personally store or interact with any of your credit card information, which means there is nothing of yours for me to lose or abuse. Paypal has multiple services designed to protect you, the buyer, from online fraud. For more information, please check out their website.
